Default Mesaba

Is Mesaba working on a new contract soon?

$31/hour for a 3rd year CRJ-900 FO is horrific!

Just happened to look at that, and I thought "they've gotta be working on something..." Any news?

Yep. NWA mainline FO pay for that size aircraft is a bit higher. I really do hope they are working on something, seeing how Mesaba and Compass is currently Northwest's mainline growth.

Our contract is concessionary right now, from when we were 'taken' into BK. It is my understanding that once we take delivery of all new airplanes our pay will snap back to what it used to be. But don't quote me on that...I really need to read the contract thoroughly. There are guys on here that know better than me.

Our concessionary agreement is amendable in 2012. Mesaba has always been on the low side paywise for jet FO's. We have a blended FO pay rate. Consequently, the Saab FO's are a bit above average, while the jet FO's are below. We do have snapback provisions in the current TA, but it only puts us back to where we were we would have been in 2008 under the old contract. The snapbacks start Dec 1, 2008 and add 1-2% per year until 2010 when we will be fully wage "recovered."

What is the "recovered" rate? Moreover, what were the rates in 2006?

I was hoping you would clarify...I knew you'd know.

3rd year FO pay in 2010 will be $34.13/hr

I edited my earlier post to clarify the wage recovery. The snapbacks implemented through 2010, will take us back to where we would have been in 2008 with no bankruptcy.

Remember, it is a "blended" rate. That's good for the Saab FO's, and bad for the jet FO's. It is what it is. All the more incentive to upgrade as soon as possible.
