Default TSA rule

anyone know about this new rule about crewmembers taking their badges out of a plastic cover and handing it to the agents for inspection? Is this going to be just something at certain airports or is it more widespread?

I don't know how universal the rule is, but I'm giving serious consideration to getting a badge holder just so I have another excuse to cause fights with the Tub Stacking Association.

I've recently decided that I ought to make a concious effort to stop using that one. Even an act as simple as stacking tubs seems to be too complicated for the bulk of those middle school dropouts. Thousands Standing Around is much closer to reality.

They want to feel the license to know if it's fake. Apparently during a test they managed to get a few fakes through.

I prefer "The Suitcase A$$H*le$" myself.

I am so over the top sick of these idiot Barney Fifes thinking they are some sort of police agency and the fact these former shoe salesmen and fired Macdonalds employees have authority over me and my job. It's enough to go postal. This petty bulls#!t has got to stop!

PHEW!! I feel better- Rant over- Proceed

This all came about because a ExpressJet pilot got caught with a photocopied ID that he used as a spare or something stupid like that. I think it happened in Cleveland.

Screw TSA.... most of them haven't asked to take it out. The only place that I've been where they said anything was CLT. But in CLT you can't cut in line anymore if your a crewmember in uniform either. Screw TSA

Every airport is different you go to, so it'll of course be a select few. Same reasons why we can go to small outstations and not go thru some security checkpoints, and other outstations we can leave our laptops in our bags. Then in O'Hare you can go thru crew line no matter what, but in Vegas you need some sort of authorization ticket from a gate agent.

Or if you're a pilot whose jumpseating, you have to go change in your uniform to carry liquids along

TSA is really only good at being retarded, yet allowing dummy bombs to go thru the xray machines

Just be glad you're not flying supplemental private charters. These clowns are driving us crazy. We sometimes have to do our own screening. At BWI, they watched a crew screen with binoculars from the parking lot. They waited until everyone was onboard, came out and told the Captain they saw something they didn't like, it was a Mickey Mouse deal, and made them deplane and rescreen. I've had them demand to see my security training records (wait while I get it out of the filing cabinet in the back) entire crew refused passage thru screening because " your airline's not based here", have to open and visually inspect every catered meal. I've even had one of these idiots tell me "I could hold up the President's plane if I wanted to". Prepare for even worse because this is an agency that's flexing it's new found muscles in a quest for even more power.
