Unions only work to maintain the contracts put forth. Idiot pilot groups stay that way regardless. Lets hope your company never decides to whipsaw you guys. Bloodbath.

Determine your priorities among these factors:

1) Where you'd be living/based and commuting issues
2) Pay/Work rules
3) Equipment
4) Industry reputation
5) Expected career progression/upgrade/where people go when they leave
6) How well others like working for each company
7) How well you think the company will fare in this dog eat dog world (usually anybody's guess, but use your crystal ball if you have it)

See which one does the best among your top priorities. Remember what is right for others is not necessarily right for you. Good luck.

They're not in local 747 which represents Horizon and RAH. They're in 618, the local that represents trash truck drivers and janitors in the St. Louis area. 747 refused them and protested to their national branch as well.

What an insult to trash truck drivers and janitors.

I didn't know that, but I sure do get a charge out of it...agreed.

Didn't say that.

Mesa is a crappy airline, but SkyWest pilots are happy to have their pilots over here. We've got lots of 'em.

I's consider RAH and SKW roughly equal, so your decision should come down to geography. But I mean big picture geography, not domicile specific geography. Domiciles come and go over time, so consider the possibility that you might be at RAH/SKW for a long time.

Who has more of a presence in your desired part of the country? This way if a specific bases closes, you won't be totally hosed.

I made that mistake once and ended up facing a transcon commute for many years (I quit instead).

If you like the east, RAH is probably the way to go.

The union issue is meaningless in this case. Gojet is teamsters too
