Unbelievable. And just to think a Dual XC is going to be going on up in the cockpit with 50 people in the back.

Those mins are pretty much a de facto MPL. Without CRM from day one.

And the ground is rushing up to us fast everyone. Maybe our descent to the bottom will finally be reached. Can't go any lower than commercial minimums can we? Next up, $5000 signing bonuses.

When the guy changing your oil makes more than an SIC on an RJ it makes you wonder why no one seems to understand the coming storm for our industry. History seems to replay itself. I remember in the mid '90s a couple of the regional turboprop crashes were attributed to the backgrounds of certain Captains. PRIA was the result and people were concerned that if you rode on a turboprop you might meet the same fate. That's when Comair exploded. If a couple of crashes occur that are attributed to crew experience then things will get ugly. Ironically, two crashes did occur but received very little fallout so far. The most egregious were the 410 boys at Jeff City.

If that had killed any passengers that accident would have gone down in history as the worst accident regarding our professionalism and profession.

I think it is already because it was such an unnecessary loss of life. Nothing wrong with the airplane, just two pilots creating the problem for themselves. And I knew the captain when he was an instructor at Riddle....nice guy and pretty sharp, believe it or not.

Well who are you going to commute on then? Hopefully you live in a city served by one major carrier from airport to airport.....

ASA-none
Colgan-none
TSA-none
GoJet-none
PSA-none
Piedmont-none
ExpressJet-took their posted mins off-line, and post no mins now.
Mesa-none
AE-400/50
Big Sky-none
Republic-800 posted but been hiring at 300ttl
AWAC-500 posted but been hiring in the 300ttl range
Pinnacle-1000 posted but hiring at 250ttl
Spirit-hiring Embry Riddle Grads at 300ttl

Looks like you have Comass, Comair, & Skywest that are holding to 500+ total time.....hopefully you have them to take you to work :D:D

that pretty much sums it up... bad and good but as a soon to be new hire ill hate to have my capt and other capts out there being the teachers not that is bad at first but after a while it gets old...

I know IOE Captains at SKW complain about the 1000-hr guys here at times...can't imagine what it's like for their brothers at TSA/Mesa/etc...hiring CMEL guys!! eek...

Most not all, but most newhires at XJT have prior 121, 135 experiance. We get ALOT of people that leave the other regionals. That is how it has been up till now so i am unsure what XJT will be doing in the future. I will tell you that we arent hurting for applicants because higher time guys get turned down all the time here. FWIW
