Default Bases for new hires with Skywest ???

Any skywest pilot who knows wich are the most regular bases for new hires, either EMB or CRJ.

How hard is to get PSP ???

How long does the upgrade in any A/C take ??

Is it easy to commute from the LAX area ???

Just been told to await for an enterview date.

thanks in advance.

From what I heard, ORD is the Jr base . SLC or DEN is a good possibility (easy commute to and from LAX). PSP is kinda hard to get (even if you get it, it's a 8 year upgrade).

About your interview:
-get some ATC 810 or Frasca 142 sim time and start shooting Vor and ILS aprs. also figure out what kind of entry on holds
-Study the ATP written and Mechanical aptitude test.
-Know your jepps by heart.
-be yourself on hr interview

I hope this helps. Happy New Year .

PSP isn't unheard of for newhires in the brasildo....in fact, there are quite a few brand new people that got based there.....in the jet, expect ORD or DEN....as far as the upgrade, right now it's pretty good.....lower than 2 years. who knows what it'll be next week though..........if you live in LA, it's pretty easy to commute to PSP....there is also a reserve only base in LA that goes pretty junior for EMB fo's.......if you're in the jet, you have no chance. Most of the SAN/PSP/LAX based people actually live in LA, so you shouldn't have any problems getting to work....LAX has a whole bunch of flights to den, slc and ord if you get based there too..

Is there any word on ASA/Skywest hiring plan for 2006? I hope they are hiring like crazy towards Summer...when school lets out in May, that's when my resume is going out!

on the jet currently most junior F/O base is SLC, closely followed by ORD, COS, DEN, and FAT and probably in that order. Almost anything other than FAT in CA is pretty senior, but given the movement at the company it doesn't take long to become senior as a F/O.

Why not? I ask everyone else...

What about TUS? Hard to get in the RJ?

I don't know exactly how senior tuscon is, but suffice it to say that new hires are not being awarded it. I think it's a very small base that goes pretty senior.

SLC is ging junoir. Last bid 10 newhires went from SLC to ORD.

SLC is adding something like 12 new lines a month. Most people don't want to g o there. Den is starting to trend senior of the large 3
