From: 7ER B...whatever that means.
You mean as a passenger or as a crew member?
I've never seen someone i know riding as a passenger on a flight i was working. Have bumped into friends who were trying to jumpseat on my flight or in the airport and have flown with a few captains and FAs multiple times.
I did fly with a captain who ran into a friend from college totally randomly in the airport one time.

It's weird because I always say to myself, "in what other profession do you see new people everyday that you went to college with?" I'll be in the lounge waiting for a flight and next thing you know my old lab partner sits down next to me. I can honestly say that I have seen about 10 different guys that I went to school with in the past year. Even guys I used to flight instruct with way up north.

Back in '01 I flew a flight from SBN to CLE and there was a girl from my small home town in CT that I grew up with on the flight. She was a law student. Very random.
Also, I occasionally run into a high school buddy who travels a lot. Again, he's not in the aviation biz.
As far as friends from college in aviation, I see people on a daily basis.

I was particularly tired one day coming into MKE from ORD and my landing was a bit shy of a greaser - nothing to write home about...I was very much surprised (and embarressed, then, as well!) when one of the pax popped his head in during de-boarding...It was none other than the Director of Flight Operations where I spent three years of Flight training! Apparently he had recognized me during boarding...
Actually, I don't believe surprised is the correct word...shocked is more like it. And I do believe my Jaw hit the deck with an audible thump. Not everyday that happens, so I got a kick out of it!

Well on Christmas Day I got the job of standing by the cockpit door during deplaning and thanking people for flying xyz airline, etc. Well...near the end of the pax parade I notice my old sim partner's wife and kid (and they recognized me as well). Turns out they were meeting up with my sim partner and flying to see his parents for Christmas. We had a pleasant chat and I got to give my first cockpit tour ever to his son
(I'm not sure who had more fun on the tour...me or him...I love it when a kid asks to see the cockpit and sit in the CA's chair)
Another time, I ran into a person I used to flight instruct with as we were walking down the terminal. We work for different regionals but recognized each other. Aviation really is a small world!

It's a small world and it only gets smaller the longer you stay in the industry...
Since I fly with the same person every trip (and often carry the same passengers), I'd say I run into somebody I know every flight... but that's not what you mean, huh?
I do run into old college friends and former coworkers pretty regularly- almost every trip I see somebody that I know in an FBO or airport lounge/terminal. I've also had several instances at the airlines where people I've known from high school or wherever have been on my flight. In fact, I once had my dad on a flight (he travels extensively for work), and we didn't even realize it until after we had landed and I was standing at the door saying good bye!
