Default CJC Closing MHT/PVD.....

Just wondering if any Colgan drivers know anything regarding the closure of MHT or PVD in the near future. A friend at my crashpad said he was told by another FO that they are closing MHT. That stinks if there is any truth to it. On the flip side it would be nice to see Colgan open BOS as a base and make it all overnights. Oh well, wishfull thinking.

The latest roomers also show that BUF and ROC are closing. Mabey Pinnicle is moving everything to centralized basing. Go onto the USAir website and look for flights several months in advance out of your base and see if the saab is still showing up!

I know the rumor has been centralized basing for a while but I do not know why the rush to close all outstations. It would cost the company more money because now they have to pay for per diem and hotels if we switch to trips not just out and backs.

Having said that, closing some NE bases would make sence. BUF and BDL lines have been cut back in recent months. When I was in BUF I was flying more than 80 hours a month, now they are way down, same as ROC. BUF and BDL also only go to BDL and I think BDL is something that could easily be served out of BOS for Colgan if they chose to.

Im in Texas and Tyler was removed as a base a little while back and then added back into the mix some short time later, maybe they realized that a Texas outstation was needed.

Who knows, all just rumors anyway.

Hey cubcap..

I saw your schedule this month...are you in the upcoming upgrade class? I know you are only a few numbers out so I figured youve got to be there any month now. If so congrats.

Sorry to resurrect old threads and rumors, but has something changed recently regarding MHT and BUF? I see someone has changed the profile, stating that MHT, ROC, and BUF are closing in march. I haven't heard anything about new base closures, even spoke with Mikey just recently to bid MHT too.

I spoke to Mikey today and was told that MHT will remain open for what thats worth. BUF and ROC are closing. WX, where are you based right now? I was told that I was number 1 on the list for MHT a month ago and today they said there was one person ahead of me, go figure. I have a feeling they have no idea who's on what list. Seems very disorganized. I am the last from my class of FO's to get based where I want and it looks like it will be a while.

Welcome to Pinnacle!
They strive to promote subpar/incompetent managers everyday at that place. That way everyone appears busy but is doing absolutely nothing of any value for the operation. As Pinnacle wraps more of its tenticles around Colgan I would get used to seeing more and more confusion, and absolute stupidity on the part of several of the newly promoted managers from the Pinnacle ranks. Have fun!
