The Jan. 30th class is still going on, they have just decided to reduce the size and put some people in a CRJ class.

The -200 is like a dinosaur compared to all of the automation in the E-jet!

I'd venture to say not only possible, but probable. It isn't open yet, but by the time your training is done, it should be.

Per the current contract, you can take any seat your seniority will hold, as long as it is a pay increase.

-a 145 FO can take 170 CA when seniority will hold it
-an FO on anything CANNOT take FO on anything else as all FO payrates are the same
-a Republic 170 CA cannot take Shuttle 170 CA as it is not a pay increase
-a 145 CA can take 170 CA after sitting through the 2 year seat lock

How about holding STL on CHQ right out of class. Possible?

I start IOE with CHQ on Friday. 11 out of 27 in my class (including me) just got assigned STL, and I'm 2nd from last as far as seniority goes. Who knows how it'll be in the future though.

always love hearing how "non-automated" the 145 is....really gotta jumpseat on one of those 170's to see if it really flies itself for me....everything i want in the 145 is only a button press away.

student pilot here... just a quick question

When you apply for Republic, do you have an interview with them and then they put you into one of the three (republic, chautauqua, shuttle america)? or each subsidiary is independent and has its own interview and application process??

I'm about to start at shuttle coming from the 145 so I'll report back and let you know. I did have the opportunity to non-rev on Republic a few weeks ago and got a quick tour of the cockpit. One tidbit I picked up from the FO was that there is an "auto" switch for the bleeds and packs and the buttons are left in all the time. So I guess the answer is in the 145 everything you want is a button press away, in the 170 you don't even need to press the button.
