I believe Lambourne is correct, two different systems.

Sometimes alerts are only for a specific runway, since airports are mostly fairly big places. So if there is an alert for one runway, it may not preclude a landing on another runway.

I wouldn't f@#% with a microburst.

Oh an the CRJ radar isn't all that great either.

Denver folks have senors all over the airport and around the boundry. We will get a "15 knots loss on a mile final" or something like this from the computer not a pirep. Our FOM will not allow operations on a runway with a microburst alert or shears of 30kts or greater reported. This is for B1900's.
