A few months ago reserves didn't have to sit reserve long or at all. Now jet FOs are sitting reserve, including those that had previously been holding a line.

I think Tony said he was hired back in Feb. He is in SLC and is sitting resrve.

My understanding is they are shorter on EMB FOs and they will still get a line pretty quick. We are returning 22 EMBs, so YMMV.

23 are being pulled & sold with 4 being reassigned to "at-risk" flying for a total loss of 19 EMB's. Not a big deal seeing we are staffed at a level, on the EMB's, for only 45 a/c and those 19 EMB’s are being replaced my 22 RJ’s.

10 pilots per a/c X 45 a/c = 450 pilots (we have 62 EMB's and 455 EMB pilots, proper staffing levels dictates we should have 620 EMB pilots)

Subtract those 19 EMB's that are being pulled from the 62 and that gives you 43 a/c or 430 EMB pilots for proper staffing.

The real reason why EMB FO’s gain seniority so fast is due to the simple fact the 95% of all EMB pilots transition to the RJ after their one year seat lock is up. It’s almost a no brainier seeing you’ll make $27/hr on the EMB vs. $35/hr on the RJ. With the override for any CR7/9 flying, it turns out to be a pay difference of around $10K.

That was me missing everyone of my show times in Dec in ORD (commute). I'm now in FAT... just a little different than ORD in the winter.

my buddy (Nov 06 hire) says he had to sit reserve in DEN because of all the emb guys who retrained to the jet and pushed him down. is DEN really that senior?
