Default Eagle schedule for a new hire

Coming out of training and going to Boston what kind of schedule can a new hire expect? Anyone out there start there recently out of KBOS and if so what was reserve like? Hours? Trips ? etc? And for those who recently just got a line what kind of trips and days can you expect???

Rsv can be pretty bad. They have people out for 5-6days at a time deadheading around picking up the pieces. Being JR, if your not flying the plane your flying the couch on ready rsv. Its gets better when you get more senior.... good luck.

RSV at boston shouldnt be too long... maybe 2 or 3 months?

Be ready to go away to Chicago and Dallas for trips... especially Chicago. And if they send you away, always pack enough clothes for how many days you are on reserve.

They may be sending you to Chicago for just a 2 day trip, and sure enough at the end of 2 days... they will have more flying for you in Chicago all the way up to your days off. The brighter side, you get to go to some places you wont see once you hold a line in Boston. Welcome aboard!

Does Eagle not flow you through other bases?? Is it all hub-and-spoking it out of your domicile?

it is a hub and spoke. They will fly you home on American to your base at the end of your reserve trip always (unless you magically appear there a few hours earlier thanks to JetBlue and so many others we have done so many times).

The reason you would be stuck in Chicago for an extra 2 or 3 days after a 2 day trip is because they are really short on pilots in Chicago, so they usually just reassign you until you reach your last day of reserve, then deadhead you home on American to your base (Boston in his senario).

Ah, thats the beauty of LGA or BOS based. I can do a 4 day trip and not see BOS till the last leg on the last day. We do a lot RDU flying. Some out to XNA. Did LGA MEM last month. We do LGA DSM. Some long haul flights but, its more like hub to hub with occasional spokes. DFW and ORD its mostly out and backs from the hub.

I can answer that question as a yes. On reserve you may see those routes. But those are pretty much the standard with most of the lines. Lots of LGA and JFK, RDU, DCA, and many other out and backs to the previous mentioned. And you do usually see Boston twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of the trip (if you are boston based)...
