I am interviewing at Lynx this week. Any updated information on the interview process or hints are appreciated.

How much time did you have when applying? How long did it take to hear about your interview from the time you applied? I applied about a week ago, and am anxious to hear from them. Thanks

Lynx will upgrade 12 FO's to CA. That will still leave them at least a handful of CA's short. The upgrades were to cover attrition NOT growth. Keep in mind they have only been certified for 3 months. The company is currently short of pilots and will likely continue to be in the near term. They have not actually increased their routes, they have announced a shift in the cities they are flying to. 10 aircraft can only serve so many destinations. Republic's 170's are being brought back from routes that didn't pan out financially and will be deployed onto some of the longer and better performing routes Lynx is currently operating. Pilot pay is well below industry standard for 70 seat aircraft, FO pay is below standard down to 30 seats. The Q400 is a fast, heavy, and complicated aircraft to learn and Lynx's training program is very young. Consider your options very carefully when you apply. There are many airlines looking for pilots.

Frontier Airlines offers Colorado 'commuter pass'
DENVER (AP) - You've heard of ski passes. How about airline commuter passes?
As Frontier Airlines expands its service within Colorado, it is offering packs of one-way tickets to fly from Denver or Colorado Springs to its new destinations of Aspen, Colorado Springs, Durango and Grand Junction. All travel must be done by June 30. Travelers can buy six one-way passes for $594 or 10 one-way passes for $890. There are no blackout dates, and passes are transferable to another passenger before ticketing. The passes work for flights operated by Frontier's Lynx Aviation subsidiary but not those operated by Great Lakes Aviation. |
I was talking to a Horizon FO the other day. He said Frontier didn't like their proposal for the Q400 flying. Apparently the objection was the maintenance costs. Apparently Frontier is finding out the maintenance costs projected by Horizon were right on, and they're feeling the squeeze. Hope it all works out for the Lynx guys. Of course, I'm sure ExpressJet will be happy to help out if needed. The industry knows who to go to in troubling times.

So whats this mean for their route structure and cities they serve? How many aircraft do they have flying now? They sure were quick to cancel the XJT flying. Gotta wonder what their plan is if they defer deliveries for over a year AND cancel the contractor that was flying the routes for them.
