these are all people that dont know how to make money!

you know if you burn an extra 10 to 15 minutes on approach and taxi, maybe you guys would actually afford to buy lunch at the airport instead of pack it with you :) just kidding... no really im just kidding

i dont think they were the first aircraft in the history of aviation to run into the grass! and its always better than crashing into the grass! So no its not too soon!

I wish. Our flights are so overblocked, you can't make money if you try. I flew from PHL-BDL at under 250 knots and still came in under block. Its not worth trying for us, just get there and get done so you can have time get out of the airplane.

Then they'll incoherently follow and fly the flap and gear placards the same way (precisely 1 knot less) until level at the top of approach altitude, fully configured miles outside the final approach fix with engines spooled up to 80%....”?

Speed is life? Block or better? Over-runs? No, did you fly with a pilot that did this and ask her/him - "How's your oil company stock doing now?"

Yeah, that first one is just a waste of gas. But keeping it clean and fast to just outside the FAF and then bringing the power to idle and throwing all the flaps/slats out is pretty common (provided it's VMC and there aren't any other factors that would make you want to keep the engines spooled up). It usually works out that you're right at Ref+5 and adding the power back right around 500'...at least in the CRJ.

would you stay clean if ATC slowed you to 200 kts?

If manuevering speed allowed for it, absolutely...this is usually the case in the-200. In the -700/900, flaps 1 does wonders!

get slow, get dirty, land, taxi slow, and take youre sweet time getting into the gate. In ORD, pray your gate is occupied and head for the penalty box.

If I'm not mistaken, being overblocked means you make money every time. I love overblocked flights.;)

Fly as fast as you can until they tell you/you have to slow down.
