Sorry.... dont think so
I think you took me wrong. I don't mean that all, and from what I hear Air Whisky is different from some. My point was that if I was going to hire pilots I would want to hire guys that would stay awhile. A high time guy would have in my opinion the tendancy to flee to bigger things, others goals are different.

Actually re-reading your comment I havn't got a clue what you are talking about, my comment mentioned nothing of what you are saying.

Sorry for the confusion.

My WAG would be that now 60%+ commute. AWAC does have a commuter clause, which according to mgmt also covers probationary pilots.

All newhires are initially given ORF and it is by far the junior FO base, because its obviously easier to commute to PHL or DCA than a two-leg commute to ORF. Most newhires I've spoken with who are in ORF have moved there and enjoy the area...

Hey BoilerUP, what is this commuter clause? It sounds a little concerning for someone hoping to commute. Also, mav204, how often are they doing classes?

It means that if you're late for work and they find out you actually live in another city, you're automatically fired no questions asked.

Just kidding, little joke. It means that provided you take certain reasonable steps to plan your commute that you get a free no-show every now and then if you get stuck commuting through no fault of your own. It usually only covers air travel, so if you get a flat tire DRIVING to the airport on probabation you really might get fired. Depending.

If I remember one of my friends that went there said that as long as the commuter makes two viable attempts to make it back to the base then they are excused.

They are running 2 classes a month as of now. There has been talk on other forums that they are going to one newhire class a month in april to transition the 146 guys. But at least through feb they have 2 classes.

The 146 guys will almost all (if not all) transition to the left seat in the RJ from what the training dept. has told us. They were/are suppose to hire 150 from Jan-March, and then another 150 through the end of the year after march, depending on attrition.
