Default Republic???

Not that I will be anywhere ready for any airline for another year or so but I am always looking at different ideas and dreaming...

Anyway if you get hired by Republic are you assigned one of the 3 airlines and then stuck there? Or as you move up can you go from one to another?

Thanks

There are other threads on this exact subject, but yes, you are assigned a certificate. No you are not stuck because you can change certificates at upgrade. Currently, you cannot switch airplanes or certificates as an FO. After you upgrade, you are locked into your seat and certificate for 2 years. After this two-year period, you can only switch airplanes and certificates if it results in a pay increase.

It’s good that you are planning ahead and trying to get information a year or so prior to going to an airline. The airline industry changes so fast and so often that things will be different in a year or so. Republic might be a good airline to work for now, but things could change. Do not worry about anything now except for building hours and getting any ratings you might need.
