Im specifically talking about the comments made to this news report. It appears that I no longer know how much I make, we all cheat on our wives, love to stalk people and drink while we fly everyday. Crap! My IV pumping alcohol to my system popped out! Later

Unfortunately, I really don't think there is much we can do to educate the general public about our industry...it is far too complex. John Smith will forever remain ignorant to the crazy workings of the Airlines.
At least it's nice to see that, for the most part, we are still highly respected professionals. The draw-back? We are held to impossibly high (almost deity-like) ethical, moral, health, etc...standards LoL

From: Sitting down and facing front. Why would you want to know that?
This was said after someone said they were a pilot and made $20k a year and had $150k debt from school.

Shows and movies don't portray certain professions accurately, bottom line.
My solution, have a TV show that follows a regional airline pilot on a 4 day trip, with lots of interviews from pilots on what we actually do. The "boob tube" is the solution. Cheers.

Ok now that I think about it, it probably would be a boring TV show. It would probably be more appropriate for 60 min. or some other show to do a investigation and interview a bunch of pilots. Won't happen though because there are much worse things happening in our world that probably deserve more attention.
