Not a second job and actually just another way to spend some money, but go "back to school." I just finished another degree (only required 15 additional credits) at my alma mater. Considering working on a masters.

Doesn't earn you money, but it does give you something constuctive to do on the long overnights @ a hotel that's not close to restaurants/stores or in a boring overnight city.

Minneapolis Public Schools pays $115-$130/day. You have to pay $85 bucks to get a Minnesota teaching license and all you need is a college degree. They have stuff available every day.

For you guys that don't mind some actual work, and in a rural area, work for a farmer. Hours can easily flex as they work 16hrs a day anyways in the spring and fall. I still help my dad on his 2300 acre farming operation. Although I'm not airline, you could do it pretty easy even with an airline schedule.

Become an FAA examiner. You can have some fun like "old times" in a c-172... do a couple of checkrides in 1 day and there you go! 800$ in your pocket in 1 day :)... u need to have quite a few hours giving dual tough... not sure how many exactly.

My Examiner for my PPL is an FO from Spirit, and that's what he does during his spare time.. and he really enjoys doing it!
