Yea but can the Saab do 240 to a 3 mile final. I'm sure the Saab is great but Beechcraft has my heart forever.

Yeah, if you don't mind configuring in the flare...

240 to 5 miles, and with Dowtys maybe...

But we would never violate stable approach criteria, would we?

Haven't flown it myself, but several guys I've flown with have had 10+ years on it and they all loved it... say she's built like a tank and fun to fly. All the SF3 guys seem to have a good camaraderie as well.

Grabbed this pic on XJ the other day - thought it looked pretty cool!

Yeah It doesn't snow in the U.P. in Houghton or Marquette MI. or get cold in MSP INL DVL or PIR

The old Saab-O-Matic is very fun to fly. Just don't get too caught up in trying to grease every landing. You could do 10 approaches in the same weather at the same weight and get 8 different landings but they sure are fun when the only way you know you are on the ground is that little blue light

It handles a little like a truck but get it trimmed out and she will be nice to you. It also does pretty well in the ice (we put on about 2 inches on the wipers the other day) just don't try to climb too fast with the engine anti ice on.

Oh, and if you are over about 5'5" get used to ducking or bring some band-aids for your dome . . .

I'm 5'7". I'll be sure to carry a full blown first aid kit if I ever fly it. I hate the manual pressurization switch on the CRJ.... Can't tell you how many times I have plowed my head into that thing in just 6 months.

I usually hit my head on the fire handles and/or the peep hole cover on the door.
