What kind of privaleges do the -200 people get on Delta?

GDLBEN33 02-11-2008 06:57 AM

All we get on the -200 side is ZED fares with Delta. Kind of sucks that the guys flying the -900 get both and we only get the NWA benefits.

thats alright, we will all have delta benifits soon!

If you're talking about a merger...I'd hold my tongue on that for now. First of all b/c it might not happen, second of all because you might not want that to happen, depending on how it is structured. If, for example, they were to scale back DTW/MEM flying (like the way AA scaled back STL feed after the TWA merger) things might get a little crazy. I'm not wishing for that merger to happen anytime soon.

this wont happen, and there are several reasons why. without going into them to much atlanta cant handle any more flying than it already has, infact it could stand to lose a few flights and get ontime and completion performance up to par. instead of having 3 flights a day to tys from mem and 6 flights a day from atlanta to tys i see them shifting passengers around in a more economic way that way they don't have to do so many runs to the same place, crowding up their system. that is how a merger will play out. take the stresses off the major hubs that cant take anymore and spread it out, and maybe even pull back a bit.

So what would a post-merger 9E look like (if all the obstacles to a merger were overcome)?

that my friend is the million dollar question. We do seem to have several things going our way but who knows how it will all really pan out a couple of years from now. what is going for us is that we have 10 year contracts with both delta and northwest that both last till 2017. so that is a big bonus to us. they only way they can break those contracts is either try to renegotiate them with us or go back into bankruptcy and get them thrown out. even skywest ceo pointed out in a recent statement he gave that the airlines just cant throw their contracts out the window to downsize or for any other reason. http://www.sltrib.com/ci_8226902?source=rss So the big question will be how many different regionals does delta really want to use and when does everyone elses asa's expire. ours goes to 2017 like i said so it is fresh. what about shuttle america, freedom, skywest, asa, comair, etc, etc. even with a fresh contract it is only good for 17 900's with the OPTION for more,, whether or not they want to use those options remains to be seen.

lots have bid it tho...
But it's a shiny new airplane!!!!!!!!!!! and it's 50 times the size my 172 was!!! Oh the chicks I will be able to pick up at the bar now when they find out i fly a BRAND NEW SHINY TURBOJET AIRPLANE!!!!! And I can say I fly the biggest airplane in the company!!! Yippee!!

All contracts can be broken, do not feel to safe.

I was thinking that since I just now got over my SJS syndrome I should get some Heavy time in the -900 and since they are going to mexico from ATL I could get my international checkoff. I have been to canada countless times but they speak english pretty well. Plus in mexico I could work on my spanish to get along with people better in the USA!
