I just wanted to share. While I would prefer for this to not turn into a Skywest pilot bashing, I do want to make one request of every Skywest pilot on this board.

Tell your co-workers at Skywest about these pilot forum boards. Airlinepilotcentral, Jetcareers, Flightinfo, anything... Invite them to join. Send them the link to register. Tell them you enjoy reading and discussing the threads. Tell them you have learned a great deal reading the threads. Make it sound like a great thing and encourage them to join.

Tonywilliams made a great observation. Every Skywest pilot on this forum (except TW and slappy) voted against the pay proposal, and a good amount of them voted for ALPA. I think reading these boards has helped influence pilots decisions on these topics. Perhaps if more Skywest pilots read these forums, the votes would not be 70% for a slap-in-the-face pay proposal. I think you will have a lot more folks with a different point of view (rather than 00.32% is better than nothing type view)

Please encourage everyone you know to join these forums.

BTW, good job on the profit. $160 million is a lot for a regional carrier!!

And how much of this are the hardworking Pilots going to see????????/// Looks like your company can afford to pay you a little more, don't settle for anything less

This is exactly the point I've been trying to make. They have about $700 million in the bank and just made $160 million last year. Settle for anything less? You are assuming they have the ability to "settle.";)

I heard that they're going to put fresh Krispy Kreme donuts in the crew rooms every morning.

$160 mil net on $3.3 bil in sales really isn't that good is it?

Jetjock65 02-13-2008 06:23 AM

ohhh darn now people are going to be over there the long long time of two years. Please excuse me as this is all new to me, Corprate pilots like myself would be jumping for joy if we could/could have upgrade in two years.
Well on subject now-Congrats to Skywest, as the person above stated, that is alot of money for a Regional or excuse me National(as listed on APC):). I hope you guys/gals out there don't just settle for what they offer you if it's not what you feel you deserve. Remember you are the reason that the company makes money, without the pilot group there is no airline.Congratulations!!!!!

You clearly do not have a business background. The huge sales has little to do with how much drops to the bottom. The airline industry has some of the highest costs of any industry, the trick is not to maximize sales but lower costs. $160,000,000 is great this day and age in this industry.
