Default Big Sky Closing Shop

I may be a little behind the times on this, but I was reading today that Bigsky is going to shut down on March 8th.

What is going on with the employee buy-out and the Great Lakes attempt at taking over the Essential Air Service to eastern Montana?

Good luck to all the crews still there in Billings. I hope you find new jobs soon. I'm a Montanan and it is terrible that this airline which has been great for the state for a few decades will no longer be with us.

I believe Great Lakes is picking up the EAS cities that Big Sky was doing.

From what I've been told, we're picking up the EAS routes only. It stinks that we can't continue the non-EAS, but unfortunately we don't have the aircraft, or crews to do so. Not sure how the flying will take place, but I'm sure Billings will be the main "hub". Hope all of those guys the best.

MAIR wants this puppy to die and go away they have said no.Also the employee group has been slow to get needed documents and plans to the Gov. of Montana that were to help in attaining funds.

As a former Dispatcher for BSY I am to sad to see them going....gone.

Too bad Paul Foley is the alter ego of a Warren Buffett. Everything Warren touches turns to gold, everything Paul touches turns to Sh!@.

It is too bad that Big sky is out of business, I was offered a job their twice and in retrospect I am glad I did not take it, I would be on the street right now. Well best of luck to all of you that worked there, The one thing that I always thought was cool about Big Sky was there Montana Flying, what a beautiful place.

A sad day for all of the employees. And customers, of course.

Most of of Big Sky's Delta Connection aircraft are in CVG in the old Mesaba Hangar.
