Gotta love talking to the older pilots. Always have something smart to say.

Fact is that more often than not, THIS Capt DID do the exterior preflight in bad wx. He was CRM before it began.

Has anyone used a poncho to pre-flight in the rain?

I have a rain-coat on order, but it looks bulky as **** and I'm afraid that alone will take up 80% of my rolla-board's space.

I guess you got lucky then. That must have been a relief

I just explain to the captain that if they want the preflight done, they can go out in the rain and do it themselves. Then, when they're done, I send them to get me a cup of hot chocolate.

So no poncho wearers? lol

Suppose it was a silly question . . .

What an odd thing to do on your last day...

I've got a Poncho in the rollaboard if the poop hits the fan, but in over a year of preflights, I have never gotten wet LoL

I actually thought today would be my first - but the rain turned to snow just before our bird taxied in - lucky me

Poncho seems to be the best idea IMO. The trench style rain jackets are nice and I've spent the big bucks to get a nice one, but the thing takes up alot of space, wasn't a big deal with my corp. gig when I could just leave it in the coat closet, but now that I'm going to be living out of a "22 rollaboard, and swapping A/C space is going to be a premium.
So all that said I will be packing a poncho and saving my extra space for more important things.
