because Jet fuel is Kerosene based which essentially is distilled from petrolium... So when oil prices go up, so does the price of JET fuel..
And oil prices change hourly... They are traded as commodities and so right now thats why its so volatile.... WHEN oil prices come back down, it will ease tension on all forms of travel/transportation (heres hoping)... You can thank the OPEC oil ministers from countries like Venezuele and Iran for saying that they should CUT production and drive the prices higher.... |

The value of the dollar has dropped and so oil appears more expensive. Since oil is traded in dollars and value of the dollar is decreasing, it is logical that the price of oil will rise. Hence, that is why prices are so high...

And when did being lucky become part of getting hired? Your Lucky if you win the lotto. Being hired by a good airline takes way more work than to just say you got lucky. Sounds like someone might have gotten the NO Thank You letter in 2008. If anyone in here thinks that this is a smooth sailing career all the time, Im sorry but you shouldnt have listened to so many flight school recriuters and done a little investigation work on your own. Everyone knows this is a crazy buisness to be in. Sometimes its bad, sometimes its really bad, but for the most part its better than any other career out there. Well at least thats the way I see it. |
Maybe some of us just plain out don't like flight instructing and are actually enjoy "putting up" with a regional?
