PRIA Question
I recently (March 31st) interviewed with AE, and got the call on Friday PM of that week. They told me that they were waiting on the PRIA forms to come back from a previous 135 company. My first question is how long does it usually take for this process to get sent from company A to B, then reviewed? What type of stuff do they send anyway?
Next question, assuming everything on the PRIA forms agree's with with I had on my application (and it should) is this just a formallity that AE needs to have in their files prior to scheduling me, or could they just be waiting for ''all'' the paperwork to be in prior to having the captian's board review it?
Thanks

It's a formality, I believe every airline is required by law to verify pilot records prior to hire. Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA), basically ensures that pilots have not falsified their pilot records in any way.
I believe the entire process should take less than a month when an airline is requesting the airman records. I recently got hired and it took about 2-3 weeks from when I dropped off the request forms to the company to when I received confirmation in the mail from the FAA that an airline had made the request. Got the OK to train letter a few days after that.
The background check sometimes takes a little bit longer if you have had a lot of different security badges at different airports, different jobs, or moved around a lot.
I know when I pilot requests his/her PRIA records the request has to be sent in through the mail. I filed for my PRIA records in late October of 2007 and finally received my records in early March of 2008. Like I said, when the airline makes the request in never takes this long, so I would expect to hear something back shortly. Best of luck, hope this helped.

Everything you want to know about PRIA can be found here:
http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Gu...hlight=120-68d
To answer your questions:
Length of time - your previous employer is obligated to provide a response within 30 days.
What information is disclosed: Records on training, qualifications, and checks. Records on employment actions or disciplinary actions related to pilot performance. Records on drug/alcohol tests.
I don't know about this. I would guess it's the company's choice to not start you in class until they receive your records.

Thanks guys.
It has been two weeks since the interview, so I figure based on what you said and what I read about PRIA, it may be a few more.
If I recieve the an offer, will it be via email, USPS or Phone?
Do you think that assuming PRIA turns up nothing I haven't already disclosed, that the job is mine and they are just waiting for the paperwork to be 100% prior to the offer, OR do you think once they have all the paperwork, they will then review my file and decied?
Thanks, in advance...
