I'd say based on HR's tone Sep/Oct may be optimistic as well.

I got the same phone call from HR yesterday about the status. A coworker and I (both flight instructors) are interviewing on the 7th. Figured continue with interview as scheduled because the sooner you're in the pool, the sooner you're in class. Sounded like Sept/Oct was the ballpark for classes.

Don't worry too much about currency. My interview back in 06 was with the chief pilot and I had not flown for 11 months. Course I already had an ATP and a couple type ratings w/ 1400hrs of turbine time...

Edit: never turn down an interview. The prep and study time is great to have regardless of the company. It's always good to have some formal interview experience when showing up for your next one.

You are right about the interviews, take 'em all. I need all I can get not only to get a job but I don't speak 121 very well. I need to un-Navy myself or risk not interviewing well.

For what its worth you're a little too worried about the 121 thing. You've mentioned it in most of your posts. Just be yourself, they want to know that they could spend 4 days with you and not discharge their weapon in the cockpit.

I didn't know my posts were being compared. Maybe I don't post well. I am using it as filler/humor, same as the phone ringing comment in my other posts. I will ease off the repetition, it may be coming across wrong.

I have no problem being myself, it's the only thing I'm good at. I have some airline friends that have helped me with interview stuff. I needed it after the SX interview. I had an easier time explaining a mishap than getting through the HR portion. I have no idea why HR asked some of the questions other than to throw you off balance. I'm not sure I would call it fun.

Here is the problem with the Republic interview. They dismiss everyone or near in my class stating insufficient test scores.

Now the fallacy is they are shifting 150 pilots from Denver from the Frontier debacle yet will not admit that they are not hiring.

Just consider the only interview experience you may get is a couple of tests and a airline overview.

Waste of time and unprofessional in my opinion.

P.S. A Capt. from a ANG unit was the first to be cut loose although 4 of us followed within about 10 minutes.

Yeah they don't hire everybody. It seems like even the most qualified don't get the call. Sometimes its a matter of being over qualified. They realize that you'll bolt as soon as you can. They really look for the personality, you can teach anyone to fly the plane the way they want you too.

PS: Navy guy I wasn't criticizing your posts only thinking maybe you were getting a little wrapped around the axle with the 121 - Military thing. I've interviewed a few times, got hired most of 'em. I was only trying to offer some assistance, I'll keep to myself. Drop the gloves man, its all good!

Gloves have never been on let alone up. I don't know why you feel this way.

Do you think you wrote a good score (i.e. passing) but they asked you to leave anyway? Basic FAR test right?
