Airlines Merging
#21
Yet again a wasted few seconds of my life from reading one of your posts. Is there any possibility that you could just not say something so a topic can stay on track? Just once? Or at least try harder and post something actually funny like the 2nd guy did.

Got a message from a NWA friend. He brought up an interesting scenario, to wit- If merger goes through, he believes that eventually MEM will close for NWA[too close to ATL], and CVG will close for DAL[too close to DTW]. Wonder how this would affect the staffing, of say, Pinnacle, or Comair? Thoughts ??

You guys can put your crystal balls down; I'm here to tell you what will happen:
After NWA & DAL merge, I will buy Compass. After taking the seats out of their airplanes, it'll be time for a demolition derby in the 30 pad at IAD! A $395 entry fee will get you in the cockpit with the chance to win $1K in prize money if you're the champion.

I thought it was funny, regardless of what the LavChicken says.

Why? Has nothing to do with staple. With Compass and RAH flying E-Jets for DAL it's easier to use them against one another. Just as DAL/NWA will be stronger in a merge so would RAH if it purchased Compass. Both pilot groups would benefit from it. If Compass forces RAH into a bidding war then the rock bottom prices equal rock bottom contract pay. We're in negotiations and I'd like to not see someone else used as a reason for us to not get top pay.
I dont think New Delta will not let one regional fly one type of airplane. Look how many regionals are flying CR2 and CR7.
I dont know if the CBA that allowed Compass to fly will still exist post merger. If it does then Compass can't be sold until a certain number of new narrow bodies are on property. Its all about money, whoever will save or cost less is what they will do.
Compass is pretty cheap on labor because we are all on 1st year pay.
