The biggest thing that drives me crazy about TSA are the ones who can't work the belt. I hate when I bring my computer and they decide to make the belt go as fast as possible so if you don't grab your computer right away they send bags flying into the bin your computer is and almost launches it onto the floor.

TSA employment is a fast food drive-thru upgrade!

This is unbelievable. I'm not paid to fly yet, so I'd like to know if there are any official channels by which this abuse can be reported. In order for the higher-up to try and take action, there needs to be DOCUMENTED evidence of this sort of thing, not just word of mouth.

Do you guys submit reports to your airline and/or ALPA rep after these incidents? I know it can be tiresome to type up a report on a blank sheet of paper, so maybe somebody could prepare a form for crews to fill out after they have problems with the TSA. That way, it's less work for the pilot to do in reporting, and it's easier for the person reading them. Remember, we can complain about it all day long, but if it's not documented, it never happened.

I had to explain some dude in SEA two weeks ago who was CHQ. He goes 'I never heard of you guys' and I said 'That's normal. We don't fly here'. His response 'Then what are you doing here?'... I think job requirement for TSA staff is IQ level < 30.

I had something similar. Is this the tsa right in front of the H/K gates? 2 months ago I was going through with my Shuttle America badge, and the guy wouldn't let me through because he "never heard of a Shuttle America," thought it was some cargo company.

I unfortunately had this happen in DCA. They didn't stop the belt, despite the fact that I was literally yelling "STOP THE BELT!!" and the bins got all bunched up and my laptop hit the floor, breaking into to several pieces. None of the TSA agents even looked to see what happened, even though it was a loud crash when it hit the floor.

As I picked up the pieces I asked to talk to a supervisor. One finally came over and I explained what happened. He handed me a tiny scrap of paper with the tsa website on it and told me to file a claim. After filing my claim and several follow-ups, I was denied any compensation for my loss (my hard drive crashed and I lost everything.)

I've had this happen too, and is part of why I don't take my computer anymore. I wonder if there are any TSA employees reading this post?
