Eventually the gov't will have to stop hiring people with Downs Syndrome to run the TSA. Also will have to stop hiring people with Downs Syndrome to work at the checkpoints.
Or, they won't. TSA is like a microcosm of our government right now, to begin with. |

I unfortunately had this happen in DCA. They didn't stop the belt, despite the fact that I was literally yelling "STOP THE BELT!!" and the bins got all bunched up and my laptop hit the floor, breaking into to several pieces. None of the TSA agents even looked to see what happened, even though it was a loud crash when it hit the floor.
As I picked up the pieces I asked to talk to a supervisor. One finally came over and I explained what happened. He handed me a tiny scrap of paper with the tsa website on it and told me to file a claim. After filing my claim and several follow-ups, I was denied any compensation for my loss (my hard drive crashed and I lost everything.) As for the topic of this thread, I had a TSA agent come and try to pull me out of line for not having a boarding pass in my hand. I just happened to print out a boarding pass from home. For anyone who commutes on CAL, if there are tons of open seats on the day of departure, they will go ahead and assign you a seat. That is the ONLY reason I had the boarding pass on me. I would have missed the flight otherwise. I do not understand why we are treated like the enemy.. |

That truly disgusts me. I read this post earlier and was thinking about it as I went through security this evening. You must be a calm collective person to not absolutely flip out. Your laptop was ruined due to TSA's negligence.

I had something similar. Is this the tsa right in front of the H/K gates? 2 months ago I was going through with my Shuttle America badge, and the guy wouldn't let me through because he "never heard of a Shuttle America," thought it was some cargo company.

Before we jump on the TSA too hard...
If you were in charge of TSA, and had actionable intelligence that bad guys were trying to get 4 oz of shampoo through security using fake uniforms and fake airline IDs (from either actual or fictional airlines) what would you do? (Okay, the 4 oz of shampoo was a joke...but you get the point) How would you advise your line employees (who aren't exactly leaving in droves to work in spacecraft development for NASA's manned mission to Mars) to check crew IDs? (How many of us would apply to work at TSA if on furlough? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?) I'll bet you'd say to "question" anything that looks unusual. Somebody said earlier that "we are not the enemy." That's true. But the enemy may very well be dressed like us and pretending to be us. |

Hi!
In GRB, PNS either LRD or ELP and the AA terminal in DFW, you need to have a "Gate Pass" to get through security unless you fly for a 121 carrier that regularly flies in to that airport (or terminal, in the DFW case). The GRB TSA say it's a TSA requirement that is in effect nationwide. Of course, when I go through security at any of the OTHER airports, they don't require a Gate Pass. Screwed up! cliff YIP |
