Default Comair question about upgrades

Just got invited to an interview with comair.

Anybody know the upgrade requirements to captain. How long with company before you can upgrade and what are the total times.

I am about ot interview at pinnacle, eagle next week.

I was typing on another thread when this invitation to comair came in my email as we speak.

Expect about a 5 year upgrade.

Requirements: 3000 TT, 1000 ME, 500 at Comair.

The last captain bid was full, as I would expect all future upgrade bids. With a 5 year upgrade, a lot of FO's (except those over 5 years enjoying QOL and/or too close to retirement) will jump at any chance to upgrade, regardless of base/equipment.

No one knows when the next one will come out. Rumors of hiring 300 or so more pilots are out there, I would assume upgrades will run in association to that (obviously not in such large numbers.)

Expect to spend about a year on reserve at Comair, and it has been my experience that you won't fly a whole lot while on reserve. I have been with the company for just over 13 months, and can barely hold a line..and just under 500 hours for the whole 11 months I've been out of training.

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy working at Comair. And judging the current state of the industry, Comair actually seems like a rather stable company to be working for...at this time.

Like I said, Mesa is hiring and upgrades are quick. Seems that thats all you care.
Go interview and ask them those questions.
