Definitely! Are you painting a sarcastic view of the stagnation at Horizon or is that really how it works? Why the...why would you guys agree to that in your contract?

That's really how it works. The rhyme and reason of how a Horizon FO ends up in the seat he/she ends up in is a mystery. . .but the pay is Seniority based. I'm in the Q400, but an FO who has been with the company longer than I but sits right seat in the Q200 might make more than I, and the same goes for an RJ FO junior to me. . .they may make less than I.

Another backa$$wards deal with our payscale is the CRJ-700 Captains do make more, yet the Q400 has more seats. I guess it's because the Q4 has propellers.

The word "stable" has neither a positive nor a negative connotation per se. It is simply an unchanging condition.

There is no such thing as a stable job anywhere. Bear Stearns is an example...a rock of stability since 1923, wiped out in a few days. The best advice is to keep yourself healthy, diversify your skills, keep a positive outlook, and do what you love to do. Oh and don't go to Mesa or Gojets...

Well, yeah. They've got the EAS market more or less cornered, they're turning a halfway-decent profit on their flying, and they've shown an instinct for survival at all costs that puts trapped coyotes to shame. That, and their planes burn less gas than anyone else's. They'll be around for a while.
