Eagle Pool?

Actually, There is a pool now.
AE has stopped paying for jet transition courses. A lot of people were hired based on the condition that they get this course. However, since AE is no longer providing it, either they PAY for the transition course out of pocket or get enough multi time to meet the new mins. Then their application is put back through the captain's board for approval. (Meaning even if you pay for the course, you aren't guaranteed a job). The pool is in case AE starts paying for jet courses or someone's minimums go up enough, they can be placed in training.
Some people have even been flown out to redo portions of the interview (sim, tech) to see if they can skip this requirement. Don't know how they have fared.

I have a friend that interviewed on Wednesday this week, did the medical on Thursday and was given a condition offer. He passed the captain's board today, and they're waiting on his fingerprints and urinalysis to give him a class date. He was told the June 9th class is open for the taking. He has around 600TT and more than 100 multi. I'll post again when he is given a class date.

I continue to wonder why the AE HR dept turns down people with experience like yourself. This definitely isnt the first (or last) case of someone with more than 1000+hrs flight time getting rejected. I dont know if they are looking for desperate low-timers who needs to build 1000-2000hrs with AE before going elsewhere?

Is this a case of having too much time??? I don't understand why they would go through the steps of interviewing me only to rescind. I retired from the FAA today so it's still a good day. I'm 49 yo. Maybe I'm too old??? Just wish I knew so I could fix it. My goal was to stay with Eagle until I really retired. Felt good with the interviewers. We talked and one of them even joked with me later on in the day. I don't know what they're looking for. They kind of gave me a hard time because I was a controller. We laughed but took care of business. Both the HR and tech interviews felt good. Something had to happen after I left. I know there is no problem with a background check. Oh well life goes on....
