Default My Regional is better than yours!

My WISH is for everyone to stop with this mentality. What is wrong with you people? We are all pawns in someone else's sick game. Nothing is gained from this crazy madness. Just get in your plane, whether it is a jet or a turbo prop, and fly. Show up to work, do you job and go home.

Unfortunately, I do not see this ending. I guess I will WISH in one hand and ****** in the other and see what fills more quickly.

I see this thread being locked in less than one day

It is a pretty sad mentality, but unfortunately this job..unlike any other.. is more of a life choice. (i guess you could equate it to a doctor choosing a hospital).

Since regional flying is so fluid, a regional coming into another's "territory" (current flying) is a man approaching your girl.

We puff our chests, grunt, and start throwing things..wildly mesmerized by fire.

You're probably better off wishing for world peace than an end to this nonsense, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. When we're all happily sitting at a major somewhere and it turns into "my major is better than yours!"

Or we become so indignant and just pretend like no other major carrier exists

Blue skies my friend.

These day's it's not "My regional is better than your's."

It's become, "My regional is less bankrupt (or less crappy) than your's."

exactly, there is no GREAT regional, they all pay crap in the beginning, some have better work rules and such, but i would imagine a vast majority of us are just doing time until we can get a REAL job getting paid crap in the beginning, hoping that company has decent work rules (QOL).

Actually as every day/month/year goes by all of these airlines have more and more guys who will spend their career right where they are. All of us have hundreds of guys/gals who have been with there company 6-7 years..... so lets think about that. Big hiring boom the past couple years at all the big guys.... if someone didnt leave then ( and they had the quals ) they probably are not leaving. And the reasons are varied.

Will most eventually move on, probably. But there are many at SKW, RAH, ASA, Comair etc who have been there long enough and have enough seniority that life is pretty good and they aren't giving it up. OR they may not fit the mold of some companies or they may have something in their background that would stop them from getting hired elsewhere. Fact of the matter is while these carriers are stepping stones for many they are the final stop for quite a few.

note: yes I know a couple guys with 10 years who are in the pool at SWA.... but they are the exception rather than the rule.
