Where do you think XE will get more frames? The PR indicated XE is planning on releasing 39 frames back to CoEx. If Branded were to survive the chopping block, XE would have to ultimately buy/lease new frames.Originally Posted by SAABaroowski
All depends on fuel, the loads are there, but the GAS is way too high. We are hedged great up until the fall, so then we will not only face very high gas prices when the hedges expire, but the typical FALL slow-down as well, so I think the company will take a very HARD look at where Branded is.............but again its all based on FUEL.

I think it's a safe bet to say that eventually (maybe 6 months) branded will be gone. It stands to reason that we keep the ventures that are generating revenue. Don't get me wrong, I love branded, I believe it is an excellent product, with really bad timing. So now with all restrictions relaxed, we can focus on the possibilities for growth in the future....enter the options with embraer.Originally Posted by meritflyer

Don't forget those are flexible options, and can be converted to 170/175's. So we'll see.Originally Posted by SAABaroowski

congrats guys, this is good news for everyone. i know that you will have to cut some costs somewhere but that is business. you have proved that a pilot group can be treated well, with a union, and still continue to win service! i hope pinnacle management takes note and learns a few thing.
and also this is in no way undercutting anyone. if management wanted to make some cuts thats their call. but the pilots haven't taken any cuts to get this flying. good job guys.

XJT has no option other than to close Branded.
The net gain of this agreement is zip at this point. The only thing such an agreement achieved is long term security with CAL. XJT is making less under the new agreement and currently has no flying opportunity outside CAL and DL.
Under the new rates, XJT will be unable to subsidize Branded with the low loads, yields and record fuel prices. There is no shot of Branded staying around.
For what a great service I know it was, it doesn't have a leg to stand on.

I'm just really glad that now not only are we going to return to profitability and stability, but we also have an opportunity to grow in the future with other partners....and the best part is we didn't have to sell our contract out for it. Cheers
