I can't stay young forever, but I can always dream of being Stringfellow Hawke! (I love how he plays that cello in the mountains on the intro..... they really knew how to cheese it up back then.)
Isn't that the truth!? That poor guy, if it wasn't for his alcohol problem, that show would have been on for a few more years.

Hey ANP,

Are you a current CRJ driver? Can you elaborate a bit on the process for getting into ORD/MKE and why you think you are unable? Trying to decide if I want to make the switch from my current airline....other guys say new hires will get ORD for sure. You're situation seems to say the opposite. Thanks in advance!

My take is that right now, it's likely you'd be hired into the Brasilia, in which case you'd probably be looking at FAT or maybe PSP. If you're hired into the jet, then you'd probably get ORD or MKE, as they're the junior jet bases.

If you have previous 121 time they will give you the option to wait for the RJ. If you decide to stick it out at your present airline and wait for the RJ you should hold MKE/ORD right away. If you choose to take the EMB you will be waiting a year. But since you are in the pool right now, I asssume you are waiting for the RJ.

I'm sure he'll jump in here soon but as I understand it ANP has been seat locked on the EMB as an FO for 12 of those months and once his seat lock was up they stopped running classes. Now 14 months after starting with SKW, somehow, he ended up being awarded SLC CRJ over ORD (funny system we have here) but I would expect him to get ORD or MKE rather quickly. Lots of people want out and not to many want in, once movement starts (which will be soon) the landslide will occur.

Thanks JetJock. I expected that there had to be more to the story on that one.

JJ is right. I have been seatlocked for the last year and when I got off we haven't been running any CRJ classes until now. I bid for ORD and anyother bases that would get me in a CRJ class when one opened up. I got into the first transition class but they didn't award anyone to ORD for the time being. I commute from Iowa to California (usually 2+ legs plus a hour drive) and getting into the Jet would help me out a ton on getting a bases closer to home which will happen sooner or later. Things have been pretty stagnet here for most of the year but things are starting to move again so now would be a good time as any to get onboard! Good luck!
