How about the other regionals? Can they swim? Anybody know some news about the others? Any regionals have floaty's;)

pinnacle is fine and still growing. one of the only regionals out there still having classes and taking plane orders. could that all change? yes. your post makes no sense. we have lots of money in the bank, load factors are high. we just had an 8 day streak with 100 percent completion factor. i think we are doing pretty good for ourselves right now.

That's good news... thanks for correcting me, maybe I'm just reading too deep into everyone else's posts. Hope everything, everywhere takes a turn for the better, for all pilots.

Wow. My post was deleted for speaking the truth, unreal! Ill put it like this. PNCL pilots, don't ever wonder why you don't have a contract when your pilots are bragging about 100 completion percentages.

let me put it another way for you...

I'm from UND, so as you know, I most likely am from Minnesota as well. Now I didn't want to go to Mesaba or Pinnacle so I waited until I could get on with ExpressJet/Skywest or whoever had decent pay. However, there are many people that went to UND who are complete aviation "tools", I know I used to be one until I was "awaken" to the reality of what regionals have been doing. UND does a horrible job at relaying the history of the regionals, probably because certain regionals would stop offering preferential hiring to our grads and thus reduce enrollment.

Unfortunately UND spins out so many pilots, from Minnesota (hint where do Mesaba and Pinnacle have bases), and most of did not have a clue leaving UND what the history of the regionals were like. I wanted to go to Pinnacle or Mesaba initially, but then I actually learned about the low pay for flying CRJ-700/900's and how they replace NWA's DC-9's.

I hope this can add to your understanding why they are proud of their on-time percent yet still fly for insanely low pay to fly a plane, without putting up a big fight, that is replacing mainline jobs at less pay, that is less than a lot of us 50-seat pilots even make.

UND wants one thing and one thing only. MONEY. Do you think if they told you how thing REALLY were going to be that people would give them money? No.

Its all about money. Speaking of which... SHOW ME DA MONEY. CONTRACT NOW!

You can speak the truth all day long. As long as you do it in an appropriate manner, there is no problem. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

tpersuit,

Its not UNDs job to teach history of regionals. A person must know where he/she is applying to and must research the company on their own and not rely on UND to do so. I am happy to hear that you went to XJT, lets hope you dont end up on the street here in couple months

Very true. In all truth, a lot of the faculty there, when I was attending, were furloughed pilots from the airlines. Aftermath of 9/11, I guess. They did make a stink when GoJets came up for a job fair, so I will give them cred for that. However, like you said it all comes down to money, and I'm fairly certain many of them didn't like supporting certain regionals out there, but have to, otherwise they wouldn't get the students. Cha-Ching!

Actually, we had a couple classes on the history of the airlines. But you are right, the person must take on the responsibility to research the company themselves. We are mostly just so naive at that point we don't know any better. I could very well be at Pinnacle or Mesaba right now and not think things are that bad. I just feel lucky I did a little research when I was instructing and built a couple more hundred hours before I jumped over to one.
