I am on my way out at Pinnacle, hopefully by August or September. If by some miracle we do get presented with a TA that is acceptable and it gets voted in while I am still on property but quit the following week, they will still legally owe me a retro check will they not? I fully realize they would go out of their way to screw me out of retro pay, but my question concerns the legality of not giving me retro pay if it has not been distibuted before I leave. Just curious if anyone has had to deal with this before. I highly doubt that we can sign an agreement before September, but just thinking ahead.

good question. remember it wont be a retro check but a signing bonus. i believe you have to be on property when the new contract takes effect for you to be eligable for the bonus. grey area there so not sure. and i don't think management has anything to do with the pay out. if it is done like asa's was done the company will give the mec the money and the mec will come up with a formula for pay out.

I would think so - you would have legally been working under the new contract and would be due retro-pay...doesn't mean they'll actually pay it willingly. Just be ready to go after them if they try and pull a bogart on you. Also, if you can at all wait - I'd keep on with Pinnacle until a TA is signed - that'll be one heck of a check to put in the bank.

Last I heard from the union, it will definitely be a signing bonus, probably between $5-20k depending on years of service. I doubt you'll be getting any money if you leave prior to signing the contract.

It just depends what's negotiated and what the union decides to do.

I know I will get nothing if I leave before a new contract is signed, the question is if we ratify a new contract while I am still on property do I still get a signing bonus if I leave shortly after contract ratification?

Just leave after the check hits your account... I would say that that is the safest way to keep the bonus.

I was just on airlinkpilots and saw the memo, and it looks very good so far. It's hard not to get my hopes up this time.
