I was a cop before i got hired by an airline. A citizen called in a possible DWI and he stated he was a federal agent. When i got on scene he steps out of his truck in a TSA uniform and starts in with a speech that sounded pretty rehearsed. The guy who he claimed was drunk was stone cold sober.

I love this:

"The TSA is equipping its 48,000 screeners with the attire in an effort to project an image of authority to airline passengers"

That's right, just an image, and that's all it is.

The attire aims to convey an image of authority to passengers, who have harassed, pushed and in a few instances punched screeners. "Some of our officers aren't respected," TSA spokeswoman Ellen Howe said.
Yeah because they've earned my respect. When are the janitors and food court workers getting their badge since I'm sure they deserve respect as well.

/end sarcasm

Can't wait to see their superiority complex now.

Not unless they follow through on their image enhancement by getting rid of the beards, gotes, flavor savers, don johnsons, ponytails, dreads, earings, etc.

I got a badge once...I was about five years old, had a bright red cowboy hat and a couple pistols in holsters. Gald to see TSA is getting the same birthday present I got.

Now don't be so hard on them - I'm sure the cream-of-the-crop screeners actually will be quite embarrassed in said uniform/badge LoL

Yeah, I heard that the new uniforms come in three sizes... crack ***** skinny, Really Fat, and Obese! Not to mention they are going to made wrinkle free and stain resistent since those folks never wash or iron their shirts. They went for the dark blue since the white was getting soiled too easy and showing their pit juice.
