That kinda hinted to me that we would lose one or both bases. Open JFK maybe.

Yea, that would bring things full circle. JFK used to be a ATR and SAAB base.

Either way with the net loss of 45 planes (26 SF3 and 19 EMB) it's still not too comfortable sitting about 150 from the bottom.

Just curious, when was your class date? I'm not sure how far from the bottom I'm sitting right now and I'd be curious if you started before or after me.

Yes and you're always very mysterious as to how you know that. I want to see it for myself. Plus that number was awhile ago and since a lot of those guys were still in training I'm assuming quite a few aren't there anymore.

Does TSA operate any other a/c for AA besides these 10?

Company put out an announcement saying come september, we were supposed to be operating 13 for american. The 10 that Eagle will get are included in that number. Not looking good for us to continue an American operation...

Word from our MEC was that the aircraft would be transfered at 2 per month starting in January.

ALPA is very pleased to announce that as a result of ALPA and Eagle management’s efforts, the 10 Embraer 145’s currently leased to TSA will be returned to American Eagle Airlines. The transfer process will begin in approximately 6 months, and continue at a rate of approximately two aircraft per month into 2009.

Although this is welcome news for Eagle pilots who have wrestled with outsourcing since AA’s acquisition of TWA, it is a significant blow to our fellow ALPA pilots at Trans States Airlines. Our MEC will continue to work closely with the Trans States Airlines MEC to assist in whatever way we can.

My heart does go out to the folks in BOS and LGA. It sounded like one of the bases was going to get cut and it always hurts when its your base. Good luck everyone.

You are exactly right. I was surprised to see that we were only losing 19 jets for now. The 10 jets that were stolen from us are pieces of crap but I I will gladly fly them. I have a feeling the MIA flying will also be returning shortly.

And a Shorts base.

I am truly sorry for all at eagle, but particularly those hired after last summer. A buddy of mine is over there, hired at the end of summer '07, says that if they furlough he thinks he's gone.

Sad time in our industry, it looks like anyone hired in the past 12 months is in jeopardy at any regional and/or major.

Just a reminder that those planes wont be on property for 11 months. By the fall there will still be a loss of 54 planes. That is 486-540 pilots at 9-10 pilots per plane. Just trying to keep everything in perspective.
