It's nice to know what the fleet plan is right now. It would be better to know the staffing that they are planning on. I have heard numbers as high as being 250 FOs short right now. Either way with the net loss of 45 planes (26 SF3 and 19 EMB) it's still not too comfortable sitting about 150 from the bottom.

ALPA is very pleased to announce that as a result of ALPA and Eagle management’s efforts, the 10 Embraer 145’s currently leased to TSA will be returned to American Eagle Airlines. This is only a net loss 0f 19 jets. Add that to the Saabs and its a lot better than we originally thought. Maybe this is mgmt's way of softening the blow but considering we were previously very under staffed and the fact that we have a relatively complex operation in terms of bases and fleets, I hope and truly believe that we can avoid furloughs with these cuts.
My heart does go out to the folks in BOS and LGA. It sounded like one of the bases was going to get cut and it always hurts when its your base. Good luck everyone. |

I am truly sorry for all at eagle, but particularly those hired after last summer. A buddy of mine is over there, hired at the end of summer '07, says that if they furlough he thinks he's gone.
Sad time in our industry, it looks like anyone hired in the past 12 months is in jeopardy at any regional and/or major. |

You are exactly right. I was surprised to see that we were only losing 19 jets for now. The 10 jets that were stolen from us are pieces of crap but I I will gladly fly them. I have a feeling the MIA flying will also be returning shortly.
