You guys are unbelievable. A company just lost a ton of flying and you're already talking about who's going to pick it up when guys hit the street and get displaced. Jackals.

Compared to what? LAX runs like a Swiss watch compared to the other 7 bases I've been in.

They are making noises about banning turboprops from the main concourse, and sending them back to the commuter pad. Actually I think their REAL motive is to save prima dona angellinos from riding on uncomfortable puddle-jumpers and RJ's

Sorry to hear the news, XJTers. I rode on the SEA-LAX run a couple of times and really enjoyed the service. Best of luck to you; we all need it.

The reason why LAX wants us back in the commuter pad is so US can move over making more room for SWA.

SkyWest will take over for a while then look for the LAX flying to start converting over to mainline. They'll begin delivery on their new 73NG's (737-700s) this month. LAX is Delta's post merger gem for utilizing NWA's pacific routes.

From everything I've read, the 737-700s will be focused on thin Latin American routes, although the initial schedules have the aircraft doing ATL/CVG-SNA. I hadn't heard anything about the -700s doing any West Coast stuff other than that.

Anyway, I'm really hoping what ends up happening is that SkyWest gets all of the XJet routes, but loses some of its eastern ops in the process, then Comair picks them up, Art calls me and gives me a class date before I sink into oblivion, I start training on the CRJ and finish my 300 hours of IOE, and spend the next 20 years of my life as an F/O. Because that would be a heck of a lot better than the outlook right now!

Before you get too involved in this business, you might want to check that mentality. It won't serve you well later down the road, unless want to work at GoJets.
