Default ASA to park RJ's?

APC profile says ASA is going to park 13 CRJ200's in the fall. First I have heard of this. Any news to report?

I heard 91 200's in the fall. That would be a cut of 25. That may be a bit much, but that is the # I heard. In all honesty, it doesn't matter. After $150/barrel, I think you can pretty much count on more drastic cuts at all airlines. I think about 50% reductions at all carriers that survive will be the norm. These prices are not going to recede except maybe a few dollars here or there. I count myself among those who think my days in this industry are numbered, and really....who cares. With the good jobs at the majors likely gone this time for good, whats left?

Thanks for posting, I was curious myself when I read it on APC. Haven't heard anything within the company though, so wondering where the information is coming from. That's a lot of planes between the rj's and atr's. Is anyone using the f-word yet? Also, is Skywest parking any planes?

Nothing official has been announced. Though we just permanently parked 1 -700 and 1 -200, thanks to BTR maintenance.

1 700 and 2 200s are parked for now. We are cancelling 100 and something flights between now and July 21. Freedom is going to pick up the slack there. Nothing has been posted about parking airplanes in the fall and the f-word has not been thrown around. The company acknowledeges that we will be fat on pilots though. This is all from BH weekly's message.

SkyWest training manager told our class yesterday that ASA will be parking planes, just didn't say how many.

For the SkW side of the company, we've still got 22 new RJ's coming. Not going to replace the EMB-120's with the 18 new -700's.

Delta wants to get rid of -200's, United likes -200's.

Who knows ?

Did they say why UAL likes -200s? Their CASM is outrageously high at these fuel prices. Can't imagine what's to like about them these days.
