14 Freedom RJs parked in KFLO

I flew into Florence SC yesterday and noticed 14 Freedom Embraers parked there. I thought they had gotten an injunction that prevented Delta from cancelling their flying. Does anyone know why they have so many airplanes parked there?

Parked them there about a month ago. Delta reduced, then cancelled most of our flying. The other 22 are "in service." By that I mean sitting at outstations and at JFK/ATL/MCO, waiting to fly uncovered flights by other DCI carriers.

Delta is still paying us enough for the leases and crews of the airplanes. Once the appeal goes through, we will likely lose that income.

Freedom is getting a lot of flying back in September are they not?

Comair is losing a lot of JFK flying come September, and it's more than just rollbacks..from what i've heard Freedom is flying chunks of the schedule they had earlier this year.

Its all part of DAL's game. Since they lost the injunction, they need evidence of poor performance to cancel the contract. By giving Freedom the flying back and then some, they have more flights and more flights with poor performance giving DAL reason to cancel the contract when their appeal is heard in the court. Especially a lot the flying out of JFK which is a curse on on-time performance.

I was thinking this exact same thing. That they were going to overload MESA again, and just keep track of everything
and then boom...it's heard and court, and it's cancelled.

Hopefully good news for the Comair/ASA guys.

Any news on a court date yet...or is it still "sometime next year?"

I believe its all part of JO's understaffing/running a crapbag operation game. You're not in Mesa CRJ ground school now are you? If you are, that probably explains your JO koolaid post.

You will start to see more Freedom flights in CVG come September as well, and they also got a little "extra" flying out JFK this fall. My guess is DL will keep playing their little game and overload F8 and set them up for failure this fall, so they can go bring the numbers to court next year.

"Any one that work for MESA is supporting the demise our brothers and sisters in this industry."

I don't think so. I've helped a Mesa guy get a job at UPS and have seen two other Mesa buddies go to Delta and America West. I don't believe the average line guy deserves to be scorned. They are just working stiffs like the rest of us and chose Mesa for their own personal reasons. Blast JO to your hearts content but I think blasting the Mesa pilot group is highly misplaced.
