Which is fine TODAY. What if there is an oil crisis or terrorist attack or another rule change the spurs stagnation? Is he going to pull up people even if he didn't need them or be happy he suckered another pilot group into a meager 12 year cap? I fly with guys and ask how long they've been here. I've talked to Captains who were hired in 2001 and furloughed. I talk to guys who were hired in the mid 2000s and they were bit by the recession or age 65. They chose to stay at the regional versus some of their buddies who got hired at United then furloughed for 4 years.

You know what every single one says to me? "Yeah, I figured I'd be here for a few years, upgrade and then go to a major. I planned on being here 5 years at most." Over fifteen to twenty years later and many are too close to retirement to be able to accept the QOL and paycut. You're going to punish them because you want yours? Glad that you aren't afraid to step on someone's back to get ahead and completely ignore history.

Dinner table? Do you dumpster dive behind your local Burger King to find the scraps that everyone else has thrown out and call your findings dinner?

Because that's EXACTLY what you're being offered here...

Are you kidding?? Most of our senior guys are voting for this. It ensures them the ability to retire at PDT. 300 pilots and the top 100 have over 15 years and up to 35 years. Top 100 maybe 35-40 will flow depending on fleet factors.

Since you are stating what "if's" then what if we vote this down. There's a what if for you.

So your most senior captains who are nearing retirement are tripping over each other to go to AA and make $40/hr? The vast majority of super senior guys at Eagle had no interest in flowing whatsoever.

Why didn't you guys get the 70 CRJ900s and 150 E175s guaranteed to you by voting in your Ch 11 contract? Seems stupid to vote that in and then in return see your future go to other airlines. Probably should have had better negotiators at the table because now you are on the outside looking in wishing you could get a few of those BK scraps. All the envoy tough guy stuff is hilarious, you guys screwed up your Ch 11 CBA horribly and now you are about to get a crappy PBS system with out any growth. You're upset but you have no one to blame but all the Envoy yes voters.

I'm not kidding. I don't deal in hyperbole. You are also dealing in "if." Why don't you ask Envoy what their management promised them when they signed their last concessionary BK contract. They were promised they wouldn't come for more and that they would get 175s. How's that working out for them? What if you vote yes? They can still shut you down. They can still merge you. It's not a saving grace.
