Appreciate your honesty. When I first started here close to three years ago, prebuy out, the IT stuff at Colgan was a joke. Vast improvements have been made. Thank you.
We can't do online trip trades at 9E and pref-bid is universally unpopular. Don't get your hopes up.

Not true! If you are a 9E crewmember and are looking to Trip Trade, go to

Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. Employee Website || Login

Login, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. The link is next to the PBS login. Also check crewtrac messages. Info on there too.

Negative. That is not an "online trip trade" in the true meaning of it. Online trip trades have no human intervention. The 9e website simply replaces you sending scheduling an email from your personal email address. You do it online, SUBMIT it to scheduling, then you get back "denied due to staffing"

Ok. It is not without human intervention. But it seems the company, by beginning to put a link online, may be setting the stage for a 'true' online trip trade system?

No offense, but you have ALOT to learn about 9E management. Giving a website the ability for a pilot to auto trade vs. going through a scheduler would take away control from management and give it directly to the pilots to control their own quality of life. Plus it costs money, so there is NO WAY they will ever give us a tool to make our life easier, while initally COSTING THE COMPANY MONEY to do it.

No offense taken. However, as we recall from group dynamics 101, people generally dislike "change" (like manual bidding to PBS, Jepps to Lidos). Or like anything else to rock the boat. However, you are correct that quality of life for pilots has nothing to do with managements’ reasoning, but savings for the company does. By savings I mean AUTOMATION. If the company can reduce the workload or manpower of a position that works on trip trades by replacing (it) them with a computer algorithm, then they will. Do not let your discouragement of management short sight the idea of progress, technology, and (savings) automation in our business.

You are correct in that it would save money. However, it would cost money INITIALLY to set up the program. Spending money on an item which would give some level of control to the pilots is something this management is NOT willing to do. And I'm not saying this as an anti-management disgruntle, but as a pilot in the top 15% seniority who has seen the way this management operates over time. They WILL spend a dollar to save a dime, but they will not spend a dime to save a dollar. Especially if it takes away the slightest bit of control from them.
