Does anyone know why ASA is cancelling so many flights everyday. Yesterday was over 40 today is gonna be close to that also. It cant be the BTR thing that was only supposed to cause 100 or so cancelled flights over a few week period.
This seams odd to me since its all about completion factor and keeping delta happy.

It really could only be due to the weather in which just about the whole eastern region (pretty much where ASA flys) of the US has been getting whacked by storms. The only reasons I could think that would cause a flight to be canceled would be a.) Low crew coverage b.) short on aircraft c.) weather. Since we have a few spares and a crap ton of pilots I would blame it on the weather.

It's this mysterious phenomenon called "Weather;" it happens, it happens often and for some reason no one can accurately predict it. BTW, DAL cancelled the FLT's not ASA. If you check you'll also see that airTran as well as many others cancelled FLT's.

I am aware of how weather affects this stuff and yah i figured weather was a big reason but I havent ever seen so many flights cancelled even on weather days in the last couple years being here.
Just seams to be oddly high even for weather.

I'm getting the impression that DAL just wants to save money and make some pax wait till the next flight and fly that later one full instead of two half empty... *shrugs*
We recently CNX'd a few flights that made no sense to me, but the ATR has certainly been struggling recently.
