Default Near term future of reagionals

When CAL, United, etc. came out about the pilot or aircraft reductions they all showed stats of a projected increase in regional flying. RAH is about to send a group of guys packing on Sept. 1st and I know most other regionals are all doing the same. Does anyone remember if there was an effective date listed anywhere? Has flying already been awarded? Just curious where the silver lining to this cloud is.

The good Rev Bedford has been quiet of late. Do you think he's up to something? I hope for my sake (and the other 176 guys) that this projected increase takes place soon. Its hard to believe with UAL parking all those 737s that we wouldn't pick up anything.

With the reductions at mainline carries coming at the end of summer travel season (September) I am betting we are not going to see an increase in flying until we swing back around to the spring and summer flying next year. Perhaps we will see less of a decrease which we would normally have at that time of year.

I agree with you. However, I don't want it coming at the expense of concessions. If that happens, furlough me.

I'm tired of waiting for offcial word that I'm losing my job. If I'm done, tell me so I can move on.

Have you been reading the memos? If you are waiting for the "official" furlough letter...you are wasting time that could be spent job hunting for your time off.

Yup. Should recieve the notice in about two weeks. Already have two interviews lined up and hopefully more are coming. It would be nice if something gets pulled out of Bedford's butt last minute but I'm not waiting for it. Always have options.

Who knows? By this time next year we could be at war with Iran and paying 6.00 a gallon at the pump.

There won't be any concessions on our part. However I don't want to see any scope relief again from the majors. I know there's the US Air rumor about another J4J job. I don't like hearing how we shouldn't be flying bigger and bigger planes while the major pilot groups are the ones pushing it on the regionals to start with. I know it's been debated. I don't like it.
