Its my undertstanding that frontier was several months behind in their payments to RAH for the contract flying..... thus the reason the rev ran a preemptive strike....
Correction... They were parked because republic was costing WAY too much money. Best decision F9 made. I am happy they went into Bankruptcy in some aspects because they replaced rj's with turboprops. |

Great move by F9, the market they need is perfect for the Q400, and the baby bus can the the 170 routes if needed... they'll be just. Great company and wish them the best.

Now to make thing even more interesting, it looks like Republic wants to give Frontier more money. Its a funny industry we work in, especially when the "regionals" are bailing out the "majors."

I will be the nerd who says it... Those aircraft were 170's, not 175's.
They have been all penned up in the makeshift zoo in PIT until either someone buys them or someone rents them. Republic does not lease these aircraft. Why on earth Republic offered millions to F9 today is beyond me. I thought the relationship was over. |

So they decided to try and make some money off the situation, to take their lemons and make lemonade, so to speak. It might be a good decision, numerous airlines have made a whole bunch of money in these kinds of deals in the past, AWAC and USAirways comes to mind. |

Hahahah... your management is smoking crack if they think they will ever see that.
When US Air went into BK RAH gave US Air DIP financing just like here. They managed to secure assests by doing it which were the 170(or 175s I can't remember which one we fly for them) along with the gates in DCA. Later they turned around and now lease the gates back making good money. Let the rumors fly on if RAH is after aircraft lol. There's one thing Bedford is good at and that's making money. Whether or not these decisions will end up being good/bad for the employment group who knows but the man does know how to put money in the company's wallet. |

I should add that I believe after this financing, I'll have to check, RAH will be the largest creditor. If things went to court the companies with the largest amount of money owed to them get the first say so in what they want. Be it gates, airframes, or a large chunk of the company(if it exits Bk). One way or another F9 has assets and RAH has money. Should F9 unfortunately not make it then RAH could come out gold.
