I can't understand you guys. I understand that you despise us, but do you really expect us to roll over and allow Delta to do this? Any other company would fight this (Pinnacle did), but becuase its us, we're supposed to allow it to happen?

Get real guys.
You can fight it all you want, I still hope you guys lose!

A) Don't despise you at all. In fact I don't really care one way or the other with this exception; JO goes to Hawaii to put people out of work with his false pretense, gets sued and cries foul. Now DL is putting the screws to him and JO runs to the courts to save him. His arguement, we'll go out of business if you let this happen. Tell me, since you worship him and Mesa so much, how could DL that only makes up 20% of your total flying, put you guys out of business. How would you allow that to happen given that JO is so smart?

B) Never saw you guys shed a tear when you helped close the MCO base and send a lot of OH 20+ years captains up to JFK or CVG. Nope, not one tear.....

I actually think it would be more bizarre if Mesa didn't fight it. This is their bread and butter. They need to make money in the 48 states to support their huge losses in Hawaii.

I wonder if Mesa is going to cancel their hiring now? I had a feeling they were trying to time it to see what happens with all the Delta flying so they could screw even more people by hiring them, giving them a class date, and then calling them at the last minute to cancel. Why not? All the other regionals are doing it.

a) I don't worship Mesa.

b) I'm not worried about what will happen if we lose the flying, which we likely will. We won't go bankrupt solely because of this, IMO.

c) We can use the pilots (80 of them) throughout the system.

1. SkyWest has a -900 base in ATL and already operates the aircraft at a cheaper payrate than ASA.

2. ASA does not have a -900 program, although it would be trivial to set up.

3. I'd be floored if ASA got any appreciable growth over the entitled, mostly junior, non-union SkyWest pilot group.

4. The cost to only operate a subfleet of 7-14 airplanes wouldn't be the most efficient way to do business (see 1).

5. While ASA has excess pilots on staff, so does SkyWest as a result of the Midwest pullback.

6. 900 feed is not really needed in ATL. Given ASA's aversion to setting up new bases, I don't see our management jumping at opening a JFK base.

Wow, this thread sure died fast. I'd put the time of death at 12:24pm. Precisely the same moment of Comair's announcement.

While I don't like to see fellow pilots get put onto the street (we're always saying to stand with/support our fellow ALPA brothers, right?) JO is an embarrasement to the industry, as well as the human race. Maybe he should go back to Uranus.

Well, maybe it will die now since it is official

A sort-of-quote: Comair will beginning operating 3 additional CRJ900 aircraft in Sept and 7 by the end of Nov.

Sorry, but I will NOT post a company memo on here, so please do not ask me. There are others on here who will do it for you.

With that question, do you EVER wonder why this career has become so screwed up?

ALPA, and specifically DLAPAL made the mistake of having that mentality before. Look how it's worked out.

That was where I was going with that question. If my history serves me, They had a opportunity to mitigate furloughs by flowing back or even joining lists with Comair. But, no dice.

IMO some DL pilots are to good to fly RJs.
