Quote: Yeah, I feel for all you that are FOs there. Most didn't workd there when Delta and comair was at each others necks. Sucks that it was your old timers that caused that bad blood and you guys have to pay for it. Have a lot of friends at comair.
Interesting how you spout out towards the old timers at Comair. They surely weren't fighting themselves into a strike. I do believe it is probaby to the credit of those "old timers" that your buddies are making a somewhat decent wage as a first year FO's. If you did some research you would find that Delta had an equal part in the scuffle. Let's say your buddies were seasoned FO's right now with 3 or 4 years seniority and the situation came about right now. Would it be there fault? Not enought people do research before joining this industry.

Here Here. I am in TOTAL AGREEMENT. Bring back jet flying to the mainline carriers and hire regional pilots into a REAL CAREER with real pay and benefits.

Enough watering down of this career.

Hey... I just listen to what they tell me since they work there and what they tell me is no different from what people also say on APC. I never said Comair is a bad place. There is no good and bad place to research crap like this. Both sides would say the other sides is at fault. But at the end of the day it was Comair that lost some planes, understaffed and I think they lost some lines. What good is decent pay with no job or the fear of the big "F"? I am all for them getting the 900s because I do not want to see them on the streets. I didn't mean to offend you if you are one of the old timers at Comair, I just see that this seems to be what many Comair guys I run into say.

cvg base closing doesn't mean we're not going there anymore. just means the company is too cheap to pay an extra 7 grand to each captain to make it a 145 base instead of a 135 base.

I wholeheartedly agree. And it might not happen, although US Airways having 190s under their own roof is slightly encouraging.

Bring mainline flying back to mainline.

Before I start swinging on that one comment, I want to know what exactly did you mean by that.
I'm not asking you to swing. I am just suprised that much of the newhires in this industry and at Comair are all complaining about the current situation(I feel their pain), but that they all blame the generation before them for it. They don't understand the possibilities that exist in this profession before they get into it.

There will always be two sides to every story. From you other post though it just didn't seem that you are your buddies realize that. You just pointed the finger at the "old timers."

I edited my response to you. That was premature of me.

I still don't understand how this is different from Delta's decision to cancel their 50-seat flying back in March. Won't Mesa file another lawsuit..get an injunction, and then continue to fly these CR9s until it goes to court sometime in 2013?

Maybe taking back aircrafts isn't the same as terminating a contract? I always thought a contract includes planes though... I dunno. Anyone have insite on Mesa's contract with DL?

It's aircraft, not aircrafts. In the English language when forming a sentence and in general, when you want to say the plural form of airplanes such as in your case, "maybe taking back aircrafts", you don't have to put the "S" after aircraft. I know the English language is one of the stupidest as far as rules but this one is one of the easiest to understand.
