Default Pinnacle, Colgan, and ALPA

look I am not here to praise ALPA by any means. Its not the greatest thing in the world but they certainly help. I know you guys will have a vote coming up and you will have to make a choice between teamsters and alpa or nothing. Even if you dont think much of alpa consider this: If we are both Alpa we can work together and try to make ALPA better. We are not trying to take your saabs or Q's, we are just trying to protect our pilots and if you join us, alpa will protect you as well. The PNCL corp has 2 of the most efficient planes in the Q and the 900. They also have a lot of 50 seat jets that are unwanted and some saabs that are getting old. Under one seniority list that would be integrated fairly we could both share in the growth of the new aircraft but also have more opitons if some of the less efficient aircraft get parked. Also under a combined list, PNCL corp will never have the option of transfering aircraft between the 2 airlines by whipsawing us against each other. You might say oh i wont even be here to see the effects at this because i will be at a major, but We could be at pinnacle and colgan for years to come in these times, so lets make this place a better place together. Good luck in your upcoming vote.

What happens if they dont choose to organize? We add them to the bottom of our list?

No, you can't do that. A wonderful legislation that was passed last December prevents that.

I think that we will have representation, who is hard to tell, there is a good split between the two. I do hope the best for both of us happens as we need to be together in this. I sent my card already.

The last thing that you all need is two pilot unions at [basically] one company. I hope the Colgan pilots realize this.

Pinnacle bought Colgan the Q400s, why should they choose a different union? That is beyond me.

Why even entertain the Teamsters?? ALPA needs the new blood, and you need ALPA...

I just hope it's understood that colgan/pinnacle (9e) pilots under AlPA (currently hypothetical) would be much like republic in that there would be just one list but multiple certs (in this case 2- 9l and 9e). Colgan will fly there planes and pinnacle flys the -200/900 fleet. Pinnacle pilots want security, better work rules and enhanced qol. We support colgan and hope they join us in the fight and eventual rewards. 9e pilots have a big negotiating session in DC with a sitting member of the NMB coming up on the 25th so the positives may literally be around the corner....maybe. good luck folks

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT COLGAN GUYS !!!!!!!!!

BE AWARE ! PNCL Corp. created rumors !

I've heard several Colgan guys talking about how 9E pilot group is trying to screw colgan taking the Q's and leaving them only with Saabs and other stuff like that. None of that is coming from the 9E pilot group, PNCL corp. is always creating conflicts between its employees, divide and conquer ! rember that. Here at PNCL we are just fed up with managment creating rumors and bad mouthing the pilot group with other groups. They even send memos to other employees that the company doesn't want us to see, like "to non-pilots memo" with information completely biased.
And I can garantee that they are doing the same with colgan. Don't buy it!, 9E pilots we want to protect our tails but we also want to protect yours. We don't want to take anything from you guys or screw you with seniority or airplanes. Let's please work together and lend a hand to each other. A lot of rumors are to come, now that PNCL corp. knows you are voting for a UNION, they don't wan't colgan with ALPA and working together with 9E pilots. Remember, if the company don't want something for you, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED !

Add one more for ALPA. Personally, when I go to buy something like a bicycle I'd rather get a quality one from a local bike shop. I'd never think of buying some chinese pos from Wal-Mart. Why should our union be any different? ALPA is a PILOT union, Teamsters is a "we'll take any workgroup that pays dues" union.

Fellow Colgan aviators we need Teamsters like we need a hole in the head. Everything I read about this union is bad. They have weak contracts and weak representatives. I keep reading anecdotes about pilot's not being backed up by The Teamsters when the company is trying to Rail Road them. Every Republic pilot I talk to is unhappy with their representation. I've heard several pilots that are getting furloughed say they have gotten more assistance and communications from the company than they have from Teamsters.

Lets remember that no matter who we go with, it's us as the pilot group that will be negotiating senority list integrations. Wether it be Teamsters v. ALPA, ALPA v. ALPA, or god forbid Buddy Casey v. ALPA. Read ALPA's merger policy on their website. It will completely disavow this falsification that an ALPA v ALPA merger will result in some conflict of interest. Whatever happens we'll be negotiating for ourselves.

That law applies to acqusitions and mergers.... both of your airlines are owned by the same parent company... a consolidation, not a merger. That law may not apply, you'd have to have somebody research it, since you are already sister companies.

Just look at AA and AE. AMR has been whipsawing them for years...
