Why was the TA rejected? It was only a two year contract anyway!

sounds like someone whose never been beaten down by an airline. two year contract, but you think they'll "improve" it by the amendable date. i think not.
here is what I heard that the historical bid was being changed to better or min bid. don't know if it is true, but thought I would stir the pot;) |

The TA contained some improvements such as:
Block or Better "Modest" hourly pay increase 75% Deadhead Increase in per diem to CPI (if anyone knows what that is please tell) PBS with strong union input The weaknesses were: PBS is a monthly bid system in contrast to Mesa's 28 days bid cycle. A modest pay raise may actually not be a raise since Mesa runs 13 bids a year now vs. 12 with PBS. There was not a provision for more days off. The TA would actually result in working 20 more days per year. I have not read the TA as the pilot group has not seen it, but this is what I've been told by someone who has read it. To Mesa pilots, Don't settle for less than you deserve. Think like Mesa's management would when reading the TA. No "to the extent possible" language. |
Cpi
CPI stands for Consumer Price Index, basically they want the per diem to go up by the rate of inflation.

Thanks. It says this message has to be 10 characters.

Congratulations to the Mesa MEC for showing a little backbone in the face of a scumbag managment proposal.
J.O. is desperately trying to get the stock price up above a buck by the end of the year to keep from having the stock delisted. He figures a B.S. pilot deal will get the price up and get the heat off him. The MEC realized that the 2 year deal will stick for 5 by the time it is all said and done. and the pilot group was about to get screwed again. Increase in minimum days off, more pay, trip and duty rigs. Nothing else matters, so don't give in. Make J.O. sweat a little bit....he will come snivelling back with another "great deal" soon. |
